Free Dibs @ Quick Chek

Quick Chek delivers again with a coupon for a free bag of Dibs.  Become a FB fan of Quick Chek and go to the "Fan Exclusives" tab to print.  A nice cool treat for this heat wave we're having in the NE.

Avocado Coupon

I get really excited about fresh veggie and fruit coupons!  If you live in California, you should be able to input your zip code on the SmartSource downloadable coupon printer to get a coupon for $1/2 Fresh California Avocados and $1.50/4 Fresh California Avocados.  Luck-eeeeeee!

*Actually, it turns out if you enter in a California zip code of your choice (think silly high school drama in the early 90s) you, too can use the coupon.  That is, if you're lucky enough to have California avocados at your grocery.  I'll be trying it out at ShopRite.

Pineapple Coupon

Pick up this $.50/1 coupon for a fresh DelMonte Gold Extra Sweet Pineapple.  I picked up one of these last week with this coupon, and it was on sale at ShopRite.  It really is very sweet!  A friend made a wonderful salsa with fresh pineapple and brought it to our house this weekend, here's the recipe:

1 pineapple, cubed
1 can black beans, drained
1 mango, cubed
about 1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped cilantro (to taste, really)

Great with tortilla chips or as a side dish or topping for grilled chicken.

Thanks, Donna, for making this!  We're still enjoying it.

Your Grocery Store?

What grocery stores would you like to see featured on here?  I've had specific requests for Pathmark and Stop & Shop.  I personally use ShopRite and A&P, so I'll post those.  I know some of you using the site do not live in the North East, but I can feature your favorite grocery store as well as long as it is a chain store like Kroger or Wal-Mart.  Let me know what stores would be helpful for you in the comment section!

Domino's Pizza Deal

We ordered Domino's special deal they have going on right now, 2 medium 2 topping pizzas for $5.99 each, plus we entered the code "CINNA" at checkout and got free cinnamon sticks.  Mmmmmmmm.  This is only if you order online, which was really easy.

Every once in a while, after a long day of yard work or a busy day out running errands, we like to order pizza!  We often make our own pizza, a fun little dinner, but sometimes it's too much even for that.  Saturday night was one of those nights.  My mom and aunt are in town and since they are gardening/yard geniuses, they helped me do some weeding, transplanting and other odd jobs to get our new back yard in shape.  That, plus getting our garage ready to host a 4th of July party for our church, had us starving and too exhausted to cook!

Sometimes it is a GOOD thing to get delivery/take out or go out to eat as long as you've budgeted for it.  It gives you and your kitchen often much-needed break.  But if it's a frequent habit, take a month to save your receipts for eating out and delivery in an envelope.  At the end of the month, total it and see how much you've spent.  When you see that number, think of all the good things you could be doing with that extra moolah like sponsoring a child in need in another country, supporting a college student for a summer mission trip, saving up to take your family on a mission trip, donating to the local soup kitchen, or even opening up your home to your neighbors for a night of pizza every once in a while.

With a little bit of extra planning and effort -like doubling a recipe and freezing half- you can have some go-to dinners ready in the freezer for those long days when you don't feel much like whipping up dinner.  And you'll have the opportunity to bless someone else instead!

Free Libby's Corn Coupon

Here's a coupon for a free can of Libby's Corn.  Thanks Money Saving Mom!  And here's a yummy recipe for corn pudding you can make with it :o)  You don't necessarily have to take it out of the oven to stir it, I never have.  But apparently, it will help it all cook more evenly.
